AP1: The Docklands & River Gardens Coffee Cruise

Yarra river, melbourneDiscover the routes of the early settlers with this historical look at the famous Yarra River and surrounds. Experience the history of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest port and relive it’s involvement in Melbourne’s settlement. Then cruise up river to view wonderful scenic river gardens and Herring Island.  The river passes one of the world’s great Botanic Gardens, as well as the landscaped river banks and Melbourne’s famous Sporting Precinct.

Delegates to make their own way to the Departure Point.

 

OT1: Majestic Melbourne
Day: Thursday 21 October 2010
Time: 13:00 – 17:00hrs
Cost: $65.00 per person

This four hour coach tour is designed to give participants an orientation of the city. The tour includes visits to points of interest such as Queen Victoria Markets, Melbourne Cricket Ground and Olympic Park, Spencer Street Station, Federation Square, The Shrine of Remembrance, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Albert Park Lake and the Grand Prix site. A tour highlight includes a visit to Eureka Tower, with superb views of Melbourne city and beyond.

 

OT2: Royal Botanic Gardens
Day: Thursday 21 October 2010
Time: 10:30 – 14:30hrs
Cost: $95.00 per person

Melbourne appropriately calls itself the “Garden State’ and the Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens are certainly the finest Botanic Gardens in Australia.

This four hour tour gives guests the opportunity to discover the sweeping lawns and meandering paths on an escorted tour through the Botanic Gardens including the Aboriginal Cultural walk.  A 2 course lunch at the Observatory Café sampling superb local produce is included.

 

OT3: Kangaroos & Koalas
Day: Friday 22 October 2010
Time: 09:00 – 13:00hrs
Cost: $125.00 per person

This tour is an informative and dramatic introduction to the unique wildlife of Australia. In the company of an expert nature guide visit an open-range sanctuary on the vast Western Plains near Melbourne.  Enjoy a Bush Lunch with Billy Tea.

 

 

 

 

 

OT4: Penguin Parade to Phillip Island
Day: Friday 22 October 2010
Time: 14:00 – 22:00hrs
Cost: $185.00 per person

Phillip Island boasts one of Australia’s greatest natural wildlife attractions at the Penguin Reserve.   Depart Melbourne for Phillip Island, where the Fairy Penguins that nest there perform a “parade” every evening – emerging from the sea and waddling up the beach to their burrows. Be privy to one nature’s most spectacular shows – a few minutes after sunset. The tour includes entrance to the Nature Park and access to the premium viewing area.  Additional tour highlights include a visit to Churchill Island historic farm, and the opportunity to see koalas in their natural habitat at the Koala Conservation Centre.  Dinner is included before returning to Melbourne in the late evening.

 

OT5: Yarra Valley Food and Wine
Day: Saturday 23 October 2010
Time: 10:00 – 17:30hrs
Cost: $170.00 per person

Visit world famous Yarra Valley for a day of fine food and wine. Travel through the Dandenong ranges to arrive at the destination - the Yarra Valley. Visit 3 premier wineries for personalised wine tastings, sample local cheeses and enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch at a vineyard restaurant before returning to the city.

Colonial Tramcar RestaurantOS1: Dinner on the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant
Day: Friday 22 October 2010
Time: 20:35 – 23:30hrs
Cost: $138.00 per person

Melbourne is known for its trams, leafy boulevards and grand culinary experiences. This three hour dining experience combines all these things. Onboard the lovingly restored and decorated 1920s tramcar, guests will enjoy a 5 course meal, including beverages, while the tramcar travels around Melbourne .

 

Terms and Conditions

These tours are a combination of private tours and seat in coach tours designed by arinex Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), for participating delegates and accompanying persons of 8th Asian & Oceanian Epilepsy Congress (AOEC)

All sightseeing tours include informative English speaking commentary, all entry fees and meals where specified. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended for all tours.  For any outdoor tours we recommend that participants bring sun protection cream, sunhat and sunglasses.

All tours are based on a minimum number of participants.  If minimum numbers are not reached, alternative arrangements or a complete refund will be made.  Places on all tours are limited and will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment.  Where participants cancel their day tour bookings prior to 15 September 2010, payment will be refunded in full.  Thereafter, no refund will be made.

Insurance

Rates do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you book your accommodation for the congress and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the congress, or through cancellation of the congress, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia, failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover), loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Accommodation and Tours Managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
